We will not allow mosques to be epicenters of coronavirus spread: Mufti of Tatarstan

“We cannot let our mosques to become the epicenters of a new coronavirus infection spread. We have no rights to endanger health and lives of people”, said the Mufti of Tatarstan, Kamil Hazrat Samigullin in his address to believers on the eve of the Eid ul-Fitr (Uraza-Bairam) holiday, published on the website of Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan.

“Despite all the Muslims miss lively communication with fellow-believers, they should follow the unshakable values ​​of Islam that require taking care of each person”, beleieves the mufti.

The Covid-19 pandemic was a challenge for Muslims and a test of allegiance to the ideals of Islam, the Mufti of Tatarstan noted. In particular, despite of the coronavirus, Muslims of the region saved the tradition of holding the Republican charity iftar. This year the organizers delivered lunch boxes to the homes of those in need.

“I pray to Allah Almighty to strengthen our hearts, grant us strength of spirit and patience, protect us from mistakes and rash decisions, send peace, joy and prosperity to our homes!”- conveyed the spiritual leader of Tatarstan Muslims according to “Tatar-inform.”
