Tatarstan prepares for Eid al-Adha

The way of holding Eid al-Adha celebration in Tatarstan is changed due to the coronavirus, website reports. This was announced by the head of the press office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Lilia Galimova, during an online briefing.

The celebration of Eid al-Adha is scheduled for July 31, 2020. According to the Tatarstan Muftiyat, sermons at mosques are to start at 3:45 a.m. The Muslim clergy developed recommendations, based on the strict requirements of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection).

Galimova urged the Muslims of the region to wear masks even on the street, due to the large number of people taking part in the celebration. In addition, believers asked to have personal rugs for prayer. The festive prayer is to be held on the street as well.
