Mufti Krganov urged world leaders to unite amid COVID-19 pandemic

The head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia, Mufti Albir Hazrat Krganov urged the global community to lift the sanctions and join the efforts of world countries in developing a COVID-19 vaccine, reported RIA Novosti.

“We appeal to all countries of the world to combine their intellectual, scientific and creative potential in developing a vaccine that will help to overcome the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic”, Krganov said.

Mufti urged the leaders of states, international organizations, and religious denominations, “to show real compassion and mercy”, and facilitate a joint search for a vaccine. In particular, he suggested lifting the sanctions.

“In the current instability, we must strive to end wars and conflicts, as well as to lift sanctions. We need to stop keeping pressure on countries: for it is ordinary people who mostly suffer from this”, noted Albir Hazrat Krganov.
