Patriarch Kirill signed a decree on awarding Mufti of Dagestan Sheikh Ahmad Afandi with the Order of Glory and Honor. In this regard, the Chairman of the Expert Council under the Patriarch for Interaction with Muslims, Hieromonk Grigory and religious scholar, historian Dr Roman Silantyev arrived in Dagestan.

The award ceremony was held at the Ministry of National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan. On behalf of the Patriarch of Russia, the award to the Mufti of Dagestan was presented by the Archbishop of Makhachkala and Grozny Varlaam.

Also during their visit, the guests visited the construction site of the Spiritual Center named after the Prophet Isa (peace be upon him). Here, on the site of the future alley, they planted trees, contributing to the landscaping and refinement of the center.
