Special Commission under the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Chechnya has settled about three thousand family conflicts according to statement from the Deputy Mufti of Chechnya Khamzat Hirahmatov.

We have received from citizens some 3051 requests for resolution of family conflicts. In most cases, quarrels arise between divorced parents who defend the right to communicate with the common children. A lot of cases under consideration are connected with the division of property in divorce proceedings. At this point, the working group found a compromise in the 2866 conflict resolutions. The rest of the cases are being considered, "- he said.

Khamzat Hirahmatov stressed that the Muftiat operates a special telephone line through which citizens receive family counseling from theologians. According to him, some 5,500 people have called up to date.

The commission was set up in March last year on behalf of the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov. The working group includes representatives of the clergy, the municipalities and the police. Appeals are accepted in the Muftiyat office in Grozny, and the place of residence of the applicants.
