The trilateral cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday, June 16, by the heads of the State Trade Committee, State owned institution “Testing Center” and the Halal Industry Development Center under the Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Islam.ru reports.

The document provides for cooperation between the parties in creating conditions for increasing the competitiveness of products of enterprises participating in the Halal standard voluntary certification system, as well as assessing the quality and safety of manufactured goods.

The parties accepted a number of obligations. The State Trade Committee, in particular, will support Halal certification, hold conferences and seminars on the quality and safety of goods that meet these requirements.

The Testing Center is to conduct laboratory tests of food products and issue Halal identification labels to manufacturers participating in the voluntary certification system.

Halal Industry Development Center in its turn will inform manufacturers about the process of confirming the quality and safety of products, as well as provide information and advice on voluntary Halal certification, “The Republic of Bashkortostan” newspaper reports.
