Islam is…

The name of the religion is Islam, which comes from an Arabic root word meaning "peace" and "submission." Islam teaches that one can only find peace in one's life by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in heart, soul and deed. The same Arabic root word gives us "Salaam alaykum," ("Peace be with you"), the universal Muslim greeting.

Arnoud van Doorn, a former far-right Dutch politician who later accepted Islam and became a Muslim, has announced his plans to launch a new Islamic party in his native Holland.

The Islamic Party for Unity will be contending for three seats in the upcoming municipal elections on March 19.


Six Arabian Oud workers embrace Islam

Six employees of Arabian Oud, the largest fragrance retailer in the world, embraced Islam and pronounced the "testimony of faith" in the presence of Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdulrahman Alarifi, the company said in a statement.

The reverts said they decided to change their faith with full conviction after attending religious awareness programs held by the company.


US envoy in Sudan forced to resign after accepting Islam

The US charge d’affaires in Khartoum, Joseph D Stafford, resigned from his post after he converted to Islam, Sudanese local media sources said.

Stafford told the foreign ministry that his resignation was made for "personal reasons" but Sudanese sources claimed that the envoy was forced to resign after he turned to Islam.


Jennifer Grout Confirms Reverting to Islam

Though denying an earlier video claiming her reversion to Islam, US singer Jennifer Grout has confirmed the news, adding that she has started to pray, learn Qur’an and pay Zakat.

As a youth I attended Church and Sunday School regularly until my adolescent years when girls and running around suddenly became more important to me. Charles John Pelham, 50, inherited a £68 million estate from his father, the 7th Earl of Yarborough, in 1991. He is also a master of the Brocklesby Hunt, and President of Brocklesby Park Cricket Club.


Aussie Rugby Star Seeks New Life in Islam

Seeking redemption and peace in a new life, an Australian superstar rugby play has reverted to Islam with the help of a Muslim boxer, joining a caravan of players who found Islam in the past few years.

"He's just looking forward to changing his direction in life,” Anthony Mundine, an Australin boxer who was photographed praying with Blake Ferguson on Friday, told The Telegraph.

“At the moment he's in good space - no drinking, no drugs, no parties.”
