Virtues of visiting the sick

Every community has people who fall ill.

In Islam, we are encouraged to visit such people and not to neglect them.

The extent of the importance of this can be gauged from the five authentic Hadiths below:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:

How to make your Hajj accepted

Many Hadeeths were narrated to show the great virtue of Hajj and its great reward. Some Hadeeths described the complete Hajj as the accepted Hajj. The Prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “The accepted Hajj has no other reward but Paradise.” [Al-Bukhaari]

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) reported: While we were travelling with the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), a rider came and began to stare on the right and on the left. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), said, “He who has an extra mount should hand it over to one who has none, and he who possesses surplus provision, should give it to him who is without provision.” He named various kinds of possessions until we began to think (realise) that none of us had any right to anything surplus.

[Sahih Muslim]
