The Night Journey and the Ascension to heaven was not a miracle confined in time or limited with space and it was not an event that simply passed by because this miracle still stands as an eye witness with all its encompassing lessons and benefits. This miraculous event still serves as a flowing spring from which the Ummah benefits to solve their current problems through seeking the Prophetic guidance.

One of the miraculous events that took place during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was his night journey from Makkah to the city of Jerusalem, this event is known as Al-Isra wal Mi’raj. The event is relayed to us in the Noble Quran:

“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. (all things).” (17:1)
