Dress Code of Muslim women

By Aisha Stacey / 6 May 2013

Islam is a complete way of life, each and every aspect is designed by our Creator to advance happy, healthy communities and ease the path to eternal bliss in Paradise. In today’s society modesty is seen as a sign of weakness or insecurity. This is not the case in Islam, where modesty is seen as a sign of respect for oneself and others.

Purification of the Soul

Source : Newmuslims.com / 4 May 2013

“Purification of the soul” deals with the heart. Hearts cannot obtain their desire unless they are connected with their Lord.  They cannot connect with their Lord unless they are “pure,” because Allah is Pure and only accepts what is pure. The purer the heart, the closer it will be to its Lord and enjoy being with Him.

Jealousy – A SIN

Source : Navedz.com / 3 May 2013

Jealousy (Hasad) is a disease of the heart. It is, perhaps, one of the oldest problems of human beings. Some Islamic scholars say that this is the first sin that was committed. When Allah said to the angels to bow down to Adam, Iblis refused to bow because he was jealous of the honor that Allah gave to Adam. He said to Allah, “Do You see? This one whom you have honored above me, if You give me respite to the Day of Judgment, I shall surely bring his descendants under my sway, all but a few.” (Al-Isra’ 62)

Backbiting and Slander

By C. Mofty / 2 May 2013

Islam is a religion of peace, love and compassion which teaches us that we should respect the honor, reputation and privacy of others. Lies, suspicion, backbiting, slander, and gossip are destructive, major sins that go against what Islam stands for and sow enmity and discord among Muslims.  They cause hostilities between family members, neighbors, and friends.  Therefore, Islam clearly defines and prohibits them in the severest of terms.

The Greatest Sin…

Source : WhatisIslam.org.uk / 30 Apr 2013

The greatest sin is to contradict the purpose of one’s creation. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that the gravest sin was: “To give God a partner though He created  you alone.”  Worshipping others beside God is the only unforgivable sin, and essentially involves giving the attributes of the Creator to a part or parts of the creation.
