What is Islam

Who’s fooling who???…April Fool’s Day

By Abu Muhammad Yusuf / 1 Apr 2013

It may be “cool”…but it’s a foolish and unislamic practise of another fool!

Allah, The Most Wise, says:

“Truly Allah guides not one who transgresses and lies.”(Qur’an - 40:28)

“Curse of Allah upon those who lie.”(Qur’an-3:61)

Happiness is found in sincere worship of Allah

Source : Islamreligion.com / 29 Mar 2013

ISLAM is the religion that is more than a religion; it is the religion that is a complete way of life. Nothing is too small or too big to be covered by the teachings of Islam. Islam teaches us, through the Qur’an and the authentic teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Every single one of God’s commandments aims to bring happiness to the individual. This applies in all aspects of life, worship, economics, and society.

In the Face of Extremism: the Azhar’s Stance

By Sheikh Ali Gomaa / 27 Mar 2013

Our early ancestors adopted a straight thinking methodology with which they managed to build a great civilization from which humanity had benefited greatly. They fiercely fought against crooked thinking and left for us a straight methodology of thinking through which we are able to deal with the evolving challenges that rise with the passage of time while keeping the basic principles of religion intact as they are not subjected to change due to passage of time or change in geographical locations.

Paradise is for Believing Men and Women

Source : Islamswomen.com / 25 Mar 2013

We often hear speakers in Friday prayer or in admonitions talking about Paradise and all of us find our hearts, minds and thoughts tuned on to that 'frequency'. However, majority of the speakers talk about Paradise as if it were a house for men only. Reality is not like that. Paradise is for the believing men and women. The only price for it is sound belief in Allah, love of Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and obedience to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

Allah has created everything in this universe in due proportion and measure both quantitatively and qualitatively.  Allah has declared in the Quran:

“Verily, all things have We created by measure”(Quran 54:49)

“…Everything to Him is measured.”(Quran 13:8)

Freedom of thought in Islam

Source : Harun Yahya | 19 Mar 2013

The world we live in contains societies with all kinds of beliefs. Muslims living in such a world must be respectful toward all beliefs they come up against, no matter what they may be, and behave forgivingly, justly and humanely. This responsibility placed on believers is to invite people to the beauty of the religion of Allah by means of peace and compassion.

Islam: No Place to Immunity

Source : The-faith.com / 18 Mar 2013

It is widely known that some important persons in any given land are given extraordinary privileges and immunity. They are not treated like the ordinary people and laymen.

In the matter of fact, the point of Islam can be reflected clearly in the following verse:

“ …Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you…”(Al-Hujurat 49:13)

Rules of Joking in Islam

Source : Islamcan.com / 16 Mar 2013

Some people joke too much and it becomes a habit for them. This is the opposite of the serious nature which is the characteristic of the believers. Joking is a break, a rest from ongoing seriousness and striving; it is a little relaxation for the soul. ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azeez (may Allah have mercy on him) said:“Fear joking, for it is folly and generates grudges.”

Why do people love to gossip?

By Deana Nassar / 14 Mar 2013

Backbiting is a disease of the heart.

Spreading private information or negative judgments is painful to others and reflects poorly on the backbiter.

Last week as I was sitting at a station listening to some girls talk about people I was shocked at how awful they were.
